Circa 1920, interior construction of the First National Bank of Birmingham. Teller cages were located behind the 3 or 4 foot high partitions you see on each side of the picture. The bank manager was located behind the portion of the left partition which is out of the picture. Tiny cubicles were installed ahead of the vault where people could work with the contents of their safe deposit boxes.
